Vision 2035 Redevelopment
Redevelopment: Building for Future Generations
Since the first service was held in the original English 14th-century styled church building on Christmas Day 1908, Wesley Methodist Church has undergone several chapters of renewal and redevelopment — each one a faithful response to God’s leading and the needs of His people. Today, as part of Vision 2035, we look ahead to another chapter: the proposed redevelopment of our church premises.
This redevelopment is not just about buildings — it’s about creating space for disciple-making, community life, and spiritual growth. It is a continuation of our calling to be a Welcoming, Missional, and Caring Church in the heart of the city.
Why Redevelopment?
-
Our current facilities are fully utilised, especially on weekends.
-
We need more space to disciple, gather, and grow as a church family.
-
Parts of our premises are ageing and in need of major repairs—including the Tower Block, built in 1979.
-
We hope to bring all generations - including all our NextGen Ministries—back onsite at 5 Fort Canning
-
We envision Wesley as a House of Prayer every day of the week, and a beacon of hope in the city.
A Glimpse of the Future
Below is an artist’s impression of how the redeveloped church may look. It offers a visual glimpse into the possibilities of a renewed spiritual home—one that is welcoming, future-ready, and rooted in our mission.
