About Vision 2035 and V35 Fund

What is Vision 2035?

Vision 2035 is Wesley Methodist Church’s 10-year journey of faith and growth, guided by God’s vision for our church and community. In Vision 2035, we seek to be awelcoming Church in the city, making disciples, building Godly families and caring communities to serve God’s mission to the last, the least, and the lost.”

Over the next 10 years, and with God as our guide and enabler, we will work towards becoming:
W – A Welcoming Church. A Light on the hill, and in the city—warm, hospitable, and open to all.
M – A Missional Church. Making disciples in every sphere: Church, Family, Workplace, Society, and the Nations.
C – A Caring Church. Building Godly families and nurturing caring communities to serve God’s mission to the least, the last and the lost.

Come 2035, we envision Wesley Methodist Church as a spiritual home—a warm, hospitable and safe space where members meet regularly to share life authentically, grow in faith and walk personal journeys together. Where Church is not just a space, but a home away from home. Our Spiritual Home!

Redevelopment & Facilities

Why do we need to redevelop the church?

Redevelopment is one of the four strategic thrusts of Vision 2035—and a key enabler for Wesley Methodist Church to grow, serve more effectively, and fulfil its vision over the next decade.

Our current facilities are fully utilised on weekends, and we are reaching the limits of our space for worship services and ministry activities. Structural constraints and layout limitations prevent us from expanding upwards or consolidating spaces to create more halls or rooms. For example, our NextGen Ministries currently run BeTween services (ages 11–14) at YWCA because we lack sufficient space onsite. We hope to have all of our NextGen Ministries worship onsite in church instead of relying on rented spaces outside church. We also need at least one additional large worship hall to welcome our growing congregation.

Beyond space, many parts of our premises, including the basement and rooftop, require major repairs and upgrades to remain safe, functional, and welcoming.

The redevelopment will also allow us to embrace Universal Design principles—making our spaces more inclusive and accessible for all. As our population ages, we envision an all-weather vehicle drop-off, improved circulation routes, and easier access to halls on different levels, creating a more welcoming and connected church.

In line with our stewardship of creation, we aim to incorporate sustainable and innovative systems—from energy-efficient technologies like photovoltaic panels and advanced cooling systems, to new AV infrastructure that supports online broadcasts and immersive worship experiences for younger, tech-savvy congregants. Landscaping and flexible space planning will also help us blend with URA's latest guidelines for the Fort Canning Planning Area.

Through redevelopment, we seek to:

  • Create more space for ministry and community life
  • Restore and renew our facilities for future generations
  • Make Wesley a House of Prayer every day of the week and a constant beacon of hope in the heart of the city

Transition & Community Life

How would disruptions during redevelopment be managed?

There is always risk of disruption when worship services are relocated. We acknowledge that some members may find it challenging to adjust during the redevelopment phase.

We believe that with clear communication, strong pastoral care, and a shared vision, our church family can remain united and continue to grow over the longer term. Here's why:

  • Vision 2035 gives us a compelling reason to stay the course—a vision of a renewed spiritual home that will serve generations to come.

  • Temporary worship venues will be chosen with care, ensuring accessibility, comfort, and continuity in worship and fellowship.

  • Intentional efforts will be made to maintain community—through small groups, ministries, and regular updates—so that no one feels disconnected.

  • Opportunities for deeper engagement may arise as members rally together in faith, prayer, and service during this transitional period.

We trust that God will guide us through this journey as He has always done. And we believe that the redeveloped church will not only restore what was paused—but multiply what was planted, leading to long-term growth in both membership and spiritual depth.
